e Crimson Crescent GAMMA PHI BETA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA • SPRING 2025 The 2025 execu ve team is ready to serve our sisterhood! H i, everyone! We are Lauren Whi en Hock '09 and Megan Whi en '11, and we are thrilled to be your chapter advisors. We took over the role from Caitlyn Hearn Biddle '11 in July 2024. A fun fact about us is that we are biological sisters, and our mom is also a Gamma Phi Beta alumnae ini ate! We have both held previous posi ons as alumnae, as Lauren served on the house corpora on board and Megan held the roles of standards advisor and recruitment advisor. THROWBACK FACTS As a collegian, Lauren was Homecoming chairman and chapter president. To this day, chapter president is the most demanding job she's had outside of being a mom to a toddler. Megan was the membership vice president and the apparel chairman. While many parts of recruitment are similar to 10 years ago, the social media aspect has created a dynamic that adds some major complexi es but also some exci ng new opportuni es. WHERE WE ARE Lauren is an audit senior manager for KPMG in Birmingham, and Megan is the head of marke ng and recrui ng for the execu ve MBA at The University of Alabama. They are both moms to two amazing (albeit feral) toddler boys. Megan's son, Brooks (2), and Lauren's son, Harrison (1), can frequently be seen running up and down the halls of the chapter house chasing each other when their mothers are there to work. Lauren's husband, Michael, calls himself Chapter Dad and has frequently volunteered to support by building whatever prop the members need for recruitment or helping in other ways around the house. Our parents s ll live in Gadsden, Alabama, where we grew up. CHAPTER UPDATE Epsilon Lambda is a thriving group of more than 430 women from across the country! We had an amazing recruitment this past fall, pledging over 140 women. We've also had incredible success through the chapter's TikTok account (@uagammaphi), with one video capturing nearly 8 million views. In March, the chapter hosted a successful Parents Weekend, welcoming more than 1,100 people to events held at the University Club, Bryant-Denny Stadium, and the chapter house. The collegians are incredible women who we learn so much from. We are so thrilled to be part of this me in Epsilon Lambda's story!
