T he Texas Eta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi has had an exciting and eventful spring semester filled with growth, celebration and service. I am beyond honored and blessed to serve such an inspirational group of women who continue to strengthen our sisterhood and embrace new opportunities while remaining committed to our core values. For the first time in our chapter's history, we participated in spring Continuous Open Bidding. Navigating the COB process for the first time was incredibly challenging, but our Vice President Recruitment, Lucy Lunsford '23, and her outstanding recruitment team were able to welcome six amazing members who were recently initiated into our sisterhood. Additionally, construction has officially begun on the renovation of our chapter house! This project will expand and enhance our facilities while providing an updated, beautiful space for our members. A big thank you to Tara Bradburn '87, our Chapter House Corporation President, Vanessa Redman '90, the Capital Campaign Chair, the CHC board, and the Capital Campaign Committee for working tirelessly to make this dream a reality. Last but certainly not least, this year marks the 40 th anniversary of the Texas Eta Chapter, and we were thrilled to celebrate this milestone with a special weekend gathering in April. This event brought together current members and alumnae to honor the charter class and reflect on the growth and success of our chapter. While embracing new and exciting opportunities, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to academic excellence and philanthropic service. Last fall, our chapter achieved an impressive 3.6 overall GPA, ranking third on the row and fifth among all fraternity/sorority organizations. Our dedication to philanthropic service remains strong, as we volunteer daily at the Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley. Additionally, our Director Service and Philanthropy, Ana Alvarez '23, and Vice President Community Relations, Taylor Parsons '23, have both led impactful projects, such as donating books to local elementary schools and decorating hallways for Fraternity Day of Service. We are also looking forward to hosting our third annual dodgeball tournament, Dodge the Arrow, benefiting both the Pi Beta Phi Foundation and our local Boys and Girls Club. With so much progress and excitement, the Texas Eta Chapter is looking forward to the fun of summer and the bright future ahead!
