A s always, I am excited to update you on the state of Gamma Chapter. The chapter has been working hard on academics and on-campus activities—especially this year's THON. They held a diligent recruitment week and initiated a good group of new men this semester. We still have good young men in the house, and I look forward to working with them. OPEN POSITIONS We have one open director position on the alumni board if anyone is interested in joining our group. It does not take a lot of time to be involved. We hold most of our meetings via Zoom and try to meet at the chapter house once or twice per year. If interested, please reach out to me to learn more about the position. In addition, we are still actively recruiting a new chapter adviser. If you would know of anyone qualified for the position or would like to apply, please contact me directly. Gamma Keeps Climbing Highter A Bright Year MAINTAINING THE HOUSE During the spring semester's cold spell, a fire-sprinkler pipe burst in the apartment just below the deck. Damage from the leak will be covered after we pay our deductible. We must also replace the third- floor bathroom floor over the summer at an estimated cost of $8,000. The current floor was placed during our 2010 update and is showing major wear and tear. We expect to replace the floor in the second-floor bathroom in the fall. PAYING DOWN THE MORTGAGE We are also continually working to reduce our mortgage debt. In fall 2019, our mortgage sat at $930,000. With the help of rent and alumni donations, we have now bought it down to $525,002. We would love to continue extra payments on the mortgage, bringing it down as quickly as possible with financial support from you, our alumni. If you can help us in the process, it would be greatly appreciated. We are Penn State, Gamma Chapter. Fraternally, John "Mega" Merenick '86 (Γ1236) Alumni President johnm1236@gmail.com | (920) 360-2560 Remember, there are many ways for Gamma alumni to support the chapter! Some give their time, others give their expertise and advice, and others give financial support. For more details, please contact me or others on the board—we would love to see all alumni involved. W e appreciate everyone listed below who has donated to Gamma Chapter in 2024 and 2025 (so far!). Your financial support helps us continue to provide for our undergraduates so we can build a bright future for AGR at Penn State. Thank You, Generous Donors Sarah Avril In memory of Wilbur L.
