CHAPTER ACTIVITIES AND PHILANTHROPY PAGE 2 T he spring semester is in full swing at Purdue, and we are thrilled to share all that we've been up to over the past year as well as plans for the upcoming months. ΣAE Purdue has spent its time gaining new members. We currently have 53 living in the chapter house and 122 living out for a total of 175. Last semester, we had a 3.1 house GPA. We have been working to increase this number by holding study tables and giving brothers a designated time to help them with their academics. Outside of academics, brothers played in the intramural league for handball and went 2-1 for the season. There are five teams playing in intramural basketball in the spring semester. This semester, we are "buddies" with Alpha Phi. To start the spring, we had a Greek wedding with the sorority and held Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras-themed events with the sisters. In terms of philanthropy, we held our Paddy Murphy week in the fall. The week, which raised $1,000 total, consisted of our annual coffin contest, coffee and donut sales outside of WALC, and Pie an ΣAE. We also held a new pickleball tournament event with AXO and raised $2,000. Our final fundraising event last semester was bed sheets sales, which raised about $350. As a chapter, we participated in over 400 community service hours. This March, we hosted an ΣAE sweetheart event where sororities helped us raise money for a weeklong philanthropy event. We are planning on holding our annual Big Digs volleyball event after spring break. Lastly, we plan on holding a silent auction during our Mom's Day event. Proceeds from all our events benefit Riley Hospital for Children or another philanthropy of our choosing.
