The Hoop of Steel Kansas Beta | Kansas State University | Spring 2025 A s Chapter counselor, it has been a joy to stay connected with Kansas Beta and see the amazing strides the Chapter continues to make. It has been inspiring to watch the undergraduate brothers move our Fraternity forward, and I want to take a moment to reflect on the Chapter's growth and share some exciting updates and upcoming events. CONCLAVE 2025 It is hard to believe that it has already been two years since the last SigEp Conclave. Conclave brings together undergraduate and alumni brothers from across the country to recognize high achievement, inspire continued success, and leave a legacy on the national organization. SigEp Conclave will take place July 23-27 in Tampa, Florida. As you may know, Conclave is when the national Fraternity awards Buchanan Cups to the best-of-the-best SigEp chapters. We believe that Kansas Beta has put together a strong application supported by impressive growth in all areas of our Chapter operations. Kansas Beta has submitted their Buchanan Cup application and eagerly awaits the decision of the national Fraternity. FRATERNAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS Every year, Fraternity and Sorority Life at K-State hosts a banquet and honors Fraternity and sorority chapters and their leaders. This year, Kansas Beta was recognized with the Excellence in Leadership Award. This award is earned by one Fraternity chapter at K-State each year. Congratulations to Kansas Beta for this achievement, and thank you to the undergraduate leaders for your hard work and dedication! UPCOMING EVENT The past couple of years, Kansas Beta has partnered with the university to bring speakers on campus to address the K-State community. These events have been incredibly successful and impactful. This year, Kansas Beta will partner with the university once again. On April 16, Kansas Beta will be hosting a campus-wide event featuring Kaleb Joseph, a former college athlete, who will speak on mental health. Kansas Beta is also excited to announce that Sigma Phi Epsilon's national Grand President, Brad Nahrstadt, Illinois Gamma '89, will be in attendance at this event. Kansas Beta has had a strong year and certainly plans to finish even stronger. The Chapter has built up a lot of momentum over the past couple of years, but we need strong alumni volunteers and mentors to sustain that success. If you are interested in becoming a mentor and impacting the life of a current SigEp undergraduate, please check out the "Volunteer" link on our Chapter website at kansasstate.sigep.org/support- our-chapter/volunteer or email me at luke. renz27@gmail.com or Dirk Daveline '87 at dirkdaveline@gmail.com.
