Thank You, 2024 Donors B eta Upsilon is flourishing in many areas. This school year, we've gathered a freshman class of 15 incredible men—our largest in recent years. Many Brothers have gone on to grad school, including Harry Heiberger '24, Henry Heiberger '24, William Nolan '24, Cruz Soto '24, Eeshan Tripathii '23, Ashar Farooq '23, Franck Belemkoabga '24, and Berkin Binbas '24. Two soon-to-be alumni, Evan Hong '25 and Jian Ming Chen '25, have been accepted to their own programs. Additionally, Beta Upsilon has a GPA of 4.54—well above campus average. GROWING OUR BONDS Last year, Beta Upsilon joined a park cleanup with WPI's Eta Tau Chapter and enjoyed a high turnout. We are now preparing for our yearly tradition of helping with the Boston Marathon, a beloved event in our community. Later in the semester, our Chapter will volunteer at a local food bank to give back to the Boston area. Our Brotherhood has shared many special moments with Brother Randy McLaughlin '24. In the summer between his junior and senior year, the Chapter was honored to attend his wedding. Almost a year later, in the spring of 2024, Randy and his wife brought a beautiful child into the world, whom we had the pleasure of meeting. TAKING GREAT STRIDES TAKING GREAT STRIDES Brothers host a Super Bowl party as a recruitment event! This was a special night that brought together brothers, pledges, and loved ones for a great time with great food prepared by Raul Campos '27 (not pictured). Frederick W. Weitz '51 Robert F. Tell us about the quality and character of the student(s) in question. BROTHERS SHARE PLANS FOR GROWTH Beta Upsilon remains active in many MIT communities. Many new freshmen are in Maker Space teams such as combat robotics and the engine team. Many of our upperclassmen have put themselves in leadership positions around campus, such as Colin Clark '25, who is president of the MIT Association of Student Activities. BUILDING OUR FUTURE Beta Upsilon's top goal is to define our culture so that we can spread it to campus. We will focus on refining what makes us unique and how we want to be seen and considered; this will help us promote ourselves on campus through events and in public spaces. This will also contribute to our secondary goal of inducting 15 men of quality and principle every year, filling our two Houses to capacity. Lastly, we aim to preserve Beta Theta Pi, ensuring future Brothers benefit from this Chapter just as much as we are—if not more. Yours in _kai_, Enrique Hernandez '27 Vice President Communications
