Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 Address Service Requested Our Devoted Brother, Dan Schmidt '75 E-1197 PLEASE PASS ALONG YOUR GRATITUDE S ince 1981, Frater Dan Schmidt '75 E-1197 loyally served Epsilon Chapter as alumni advisor for the 224 Ash property. Dan selflessly made sure the TKE building and grounds ran like a well-oiled machine. Day or night, rain or shine, Dan made sure the furnaces ran, the hot water was hot, the stove worked, the carpet was clean, and the roof didn't leak. He chased the undergraduates to ensure the grass was cut, the leaves raked, and the Homecoming and VEISHEA materials cleaned up and hauled away. Dan's middle name has always been "White Glove." Over 1,200 Fraters were initiated during his reign. No doubt many of you still have nightmares of Dan pulling you out of the sleeping dorm in your boxer shorts or less, sticking a snow shovel in your hands, and being told to "get your ass up and shovel the damn walk." Dan cared more about making sure Epsilon Chapter functioned than anyone. Why this note now about Dan? Dan Schmidt has cancer. He is fighting it as hard as you would suspect, but he feels he needs to focus on the cancer and pass along his keys and tool belt. Please drop him a note and remind him how much he means to you and how much you appreciate his loyalty and leadership to Epsilon over all these years. Write or email Dan at 6100 North Highway 69, Ames, Iowa 50010 or drop an email to his wife, Chris, at chrisschmidt14@gmail.com. T hank you for your support of Epsilon Chapter.
