I am thrilled to fully step into the role of Alpha Omicron's chapter president and look forward to sharing all the exciting things our chapter has been up to! Fall Successes Fall Successes Our commitment to academic excellence remains unwavering, and an impressive 86 sisters earned a spot on the dean's list, 24 of whom achieved a 4.0 GPA. In addition to these academic achievements, our chapter has remained deeply engaged in philanthropic efforts, meaningful collaborations, and enriching workshops. Starting Strong Starting Strong This spring, our undergraduates returned to campus with one goal in mind: preparing for formal recruitment. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our recruitment team and the dedication of our undergraduates, we are thrilled to announce that 101 women have joined our sisterhood! We are excited to continue sharing with our new sisters the deep significance of Alpha Chi Omega and all that it represents. Although formal recruitment has concluded, our new recruitment team is already hard at work preparing for fall 2025 informal recruitment and spring 2026 formal recruitment. We look forward to seeing how the next chapter of recruitment will further strengthen Alpha Omicron. A special thank-you to our vice president new membership, Zella Poarch '24, and vice president ritual and fraternity appreciation, Lily Clark '24, who have worked diligently to guide our new sisters through their new member ceremonies. Our sisterhood remains at the heart of everything we do, and we are beyond grateful for the new members who continue to enrich and strengthen our bond. Leadership Conferences Leadership Conferences This semester, seven of our executive members had the incredible opportunity to attend two Alpha Chi Omega conferences in Indianapolis. Over two weekends, we deepened our understanding of our individual roles and explored ways to further grow in our positions. These conferences also provided us with fresh ideas and strategies we can bring back to our chapter to help elevate our energy and spirit. Beyond the learning, we had the chance to connect with Alpha Chis from other universities, exchanging experiences and insights about what it means to be part of this amazing sisterhood. We are thankful for these opportunities and are excited to take everything we've learned and begin applying these new skills! Community Involvement Community Involvement Our commitment to making a meaningful impact in the community continues to grow this semester, especially through our partnership with the local domestic violence shelter, CHOICES. We are actively working to raise awareness and fundraise for this important cause. For Healthy Relationships Week, our vice president of philanthropy, Anna Riesenberger '24, set up a tabling event at the student center to promote the importance of healthy relationships and share resources on domestic violence awareness. In addition, our annual Cookie Dough with A Chi O event was held on April 8. As part of our ongoing commitment, one of our goals for this semester is to increase volunteer involvement at the shelter, giving our sisters the opportunity to make a hands-on difference in the community. On top of this, our PHA delegate, Ava Palombo '24, and vice president of intellectual development, Alyssa Merkle '24, have worked tirelessly to strengthen connections with other organizations across campus. Ava has been promoting philanthropic events hosted by other sororities and fraternities, fostering collaboration and community engagement. Meanwhile, Alyssa has organized study tables within the Greek community, giving our sisters access to a wide array of resources beyond our chapter. She's also creating workshops focused on membership development, harm reduction, and intellectual growth to further support the well-being and development of our sisters. We are excited to continue these initiatives and expand our outreach, fostering both personal and collective growth in the semester ahead. Sisterhood Events Sisterhood Events We are continually striving to make our sisterhood even more meaningful, and this semester, our vice president of membership programming, Emily Dansack '23, has gone above and beyond in creating new and exciting activities. Among the events she has organized are glass tumbler painting, ice skating, a relaxing spa night, game nights, a visit to the art museum, and a trip to North Market—all designed to foster connection and fun! From March 28-30, Alpha Omicron hosted Real. Strong. Women. Weekend, where we invited the women in our lives to join us in Columbus for a series of fun activities and treats, celebrating the inspiring women who have shaped us.
