2 A lpha-Phi Zeta has had an outstanding year marked by academics, philanthropy, and campus involvement. In terms of academics, our Chapter has shown immense improvement over the past few years. Our GPA is 3.14, and 62% of the Chapter has above a 3.0. Still, the pinnacle of our achievements are the members who earned University academic honors. We had 19 on the president's list and 30 on the dean's list in the fall. Philanthropy Progress One key event for Alpha-Phi Zeta was our blood drive hosted at the Chapter House in correspondence with the Red Cross. We also work very closely with UA Miracle, an organization formed to help children in need within the Tuscaloosa area, including two recent events that raised around $3,000. Campus Involvement I would like to highlight two members for their engagement on campus. Michael Mathis, AΦ2086 (community engagement chairman) and Niles Meltesen, AΦ2085 (health and wellness chairman) are both sophomores on the Greek Programming Board. Niles is also running for SGA Engineering Senate. Chapter Growth We just initiated our spring associate member class. The Chapter, and I especially, are incredibly proud of this group of men and are very excited for them to join our brotherhood. It's an exciting time for Alpha-Phi Zeta, and we look forward to the rest of the year ahead.
