ALPHA-PHI ZETA OF LAMBDA CHI ALPHA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA SPRING 2025 An Excellent Start to 2025 House Corporation Updates, Alumni Engagement T he Alpha-Phi Zeta House Corporation is happy to report we began the spring semester with an extremely strong undergraduate Chapter. Members of the House Corporation met with new High Zeta officers to receive their plans for the coming year. We are very excited to report the continuing grade improvement by our undergraduates (read more on page 2). Grade performance is certainly a factor that potential associate members and their parents consider when deciding upon their fraternal college home. The House Corporation will hold an election for new board members later this year. We will send out a notice for the meeting date and time as well as information on the nomination process as plans develop. According to our bylaws, meeting attendance is required for voting privileges. We certainly encourage all our brothers to consider becoming involved with our growing Chapter. In Z.A.X., Wayne Keith, AΦ775 Order of Merit B rother Ross D'Entremont, AΦ1786, a 2019 graduate, was recently awarded The University of Alabama's 18 Under 31 Award, which recognizes the most outstanding 18 young UA alumni. A committee spearheaded by the National Alumni Association reviewed hundreds of applications, and Ross was presented his award on January 31, 2025, at a gala held in Bryant-Denny Stadium's South End Zone Club. ABOUT THE HONOR ____________ In selecting Ross for the award, the University noted his professional accomplishments, community service endeavors and dedication to Alabama, and his commitment to the Capstone Creed. …and Ross has numerous accomplishments! While at UA, he served as High Tau for two years, during which time he earned Lambda Chi's highest honor for an undergraduate brother—the Cyril Duke Flad Award from the Grand High Zeta. After graduating in 2019 with a bachelor's and master's in political science, he attended the University of Notre Dame Law School and Mendoza College of Business, earning a J.D. and MBA in 2022. While at Notre Dame, Ross earned one of their top fellowships, the Peter Lardy Fellowship, because of his "courage, love, and understanding toward his fellow man." In 2021, he completed a master's in marketing from UA during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ross then earned his Ph.D. in higher education from the Capstone in 2024. CAREER ENDEAVORS _________________________________________ After graduating law school, Ross clerked for two federal judges: Chief Judge Thomas Schroeder of the Middle District of North Carolina and Judge Cory T. Wilson of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He then clerked for the Alabama Supreme Court (Justice Jay Mitchell) while teaching as an adjunct professor of law. Ross's scholarship has been cited by federal and state courts across the country as well as other legal scholars and practitioners. He also sits on several University and national boards, including UA's Student Life Leadership Council, UA's College of Education Board of Advisors, Omicron Delta Kappa National Finance Committee, our House Corporation, the Notre Dame Alumni Association, and many others. Ross also endowed a University-wide scholarship in honor of his late grandmother. The scholarship will go to the annual recipient of Alabama's Junior of the Year Award, which Ross won in 2018. Ross now works as a litigation associate for Jones Day, an international law firm ranked among the top 10 law firms in the United States.
