Stewart's brother later encouraged him to pick a company with a great culture and work his way up. The advice paid off, and Stewart remains a proud brother of Alpha Tau Omega while running a leading health and wellness company. The Mizzou Years Stewart got a strong first impression of Gamma Rho through Joe Garr '85 and then-Recruitment Chairman Brian Pawlowicz '86, who helped him meet quality young men through thrilling events (such as a float trip). From his pledge class walkout to New Orleans and traditions like cornjigger to football weekends and quality basketball seats at the Hearnes Center, there was always something to do with ATΩ. "Those experiences also helped humble me," Stewart said. "It forced me to mature quickly and realize that this new chapter in my life would require more focus and hard work. It taught me the importance of the little things like showing up on time and always walking closest to the street when walking with a lady." As social chairman, Stewart enjoyed working with other fraternities to schedule events. The role was also great practice with budgets. What's New? Today, Stewart is the CEO of Careington International Corporation, formerly known as American Dental. The company, which now offers affordable health and wellness products and services including dental, was Stewart's first employer after college, and he is now in his 33rd year there after working his way up through various sales and marketing roles. "I took an entry-level position to get my foot in the door, launched Careington in 1996 with 20 employees, and have seen it grow to over 700 employees today," he said. "To see so many people putting their faith and careers in my leadership is very sobering and inspiring." Stewart lives in Frisco, Texas, and frequently plans golf and ski trips with his ATΩ brothers. He also enjoys golf and spending time with family; even though his oldest child has graduated college, they still golf most weekends. "ATΩ helped prepare me for life. I can't imagine life today without my time at 909 Richmond Avenue." The friends you make today at ATΩ will be your best friends for life, and not just those from your pledge class. I still communicate daily with many of my fraternit y brothers after 37 years!"
