O ur Fraternity's core values—friendship, knowledge, service, morality, and excellence—remain fundamental. Over the past three years, the men at 1540 Louisiana have consistently embodied these values, maintaining the integrity of the Chapter during the Graduate Trusteeship. Friendship begins with recruitment, which is the lifeblood of the Fraternity. Strong recruitment leaders identify men who will connect well and achieve more together than as individuals. Class sizes remain steady at 28-30 men, with minimal attrition. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are required to live in the Chapter House, fostering balance and natural leadership. Four years ago, 75% of residents were freshmen and sophomores; today, the distribution is evenly split across all three classes. Knowledge reflects scholarship and education. The Chapter posted a 3.45 GPA (up from 3.39 last year). More details to come! However, academic probation rates have decreased, and scholarship opportunities are thriving. Thanks to generous alumni support, including the Horejsi Family Scholarship, Pi Deuteron has provided $1 million in endowments supporting undergraduate academic success. Service is a cornerstone of Pi Deuteron's legacy, and efforts are underway to reestablish it as a priority. Philanthropy has surged, driven by John Thomas '83 and Kevin Nunnally '83, with the FIJI Run for Leukemia now supporting the KU Cancer Research Center. Interested in supporting this effort? We are seeking a Graduate Advisor to guide service projects, emphasizing both time and financial contributions to build courageous leaders. Morality and Excellence shape gentlemen of quality. Accountability, both individual and collective, has been critical. The reestablishment of the Judicial Board has empowered Brothers to hold each other accountable, reinforcing these values throughout the Chapter. We have two major House Corporation initiatives in the works. First, we are actively interviewing candidates for a new housemom and we welcome recommendations from alumni who may know someone suitable for this position. As you know, having the right person in this role is vital to our Chapter's continued success. We appreciate your assistance, as your network could be instrumental in finding the perfect fit! Second, we are still seeking $100,000 in financial support to address some deferred maintenance. The house has some failing exterior brickwork that require repairs, and our cost will increase the longer we delay. Additionally, we have several outstanding kitchen appliance upgrades and our stairwell hallways are in need of a long-overdue fresh coat of paint. We encourage every member to include Pi Deuteron in your 2025 giving plans. The Chapter truly thrives with the support of our Graduate Brothers! As we look to the year ahead, we remain committed to building upon the values of friendship, knowledge, service, morality, and excellence. Whether it's finding the right housemom or addressing our house maintenance needs, your support and involvement make all the difference. Here's to another successful year for our Brotherhood!
