P H I K A P P A T A U 3 G reetings, all! As you read on page 1, we are without a CoC, but we did not let that stop us from having social events. To work around it, we made use of our beautiful backyard and the nice weather for hosting social events. We have been making the most of our situation to create memories for the brotherhood. From continuing traditions to creative workarounds, we have enjoyed planning events for the house that follow the limiting regulations we have. As the weather gets colder, we will continue to brainstorm ways our brotherhood can enjoy our weekends. For now, we are excited to host a phenomenal formal to end the semester strong. In phi, Social Chairmen Social Event Report Thinking Thinking Outside the Outside the House House ALUMNI WEEKEND 2025 There's much to look forward to from Alpha Tau Chapter in 2025. We've already started planning our alumni weekend trip, so mark your calendars for March 21-23, 2025. We are bringing back the weekend-long event you may remember from years ago (as opposed to staying only one night). As always, it will be hosted in New York City. More information, like specific times and locations, will be sent out soon. If you live in the NYC area and would be able to provide sleeping accommodations for brothers traveling from Ithaca, please let us know at wmr48@cornell.edu. FAMILY WEEKEND At The Knoll, we celebrated Cornell's annual Family Weekend with a Phi Tau family barbecue. Our chef, Matt Lea '18, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs while brothers had a wonderful time meeting one another's families. Turnout surpassed expectations! Although the day started cold and rainy, it cleared by the afternoon, and brothers enjoyed games in the yard. Before the barbecue, several recently graduated alumni returned to Ithaca for Homecoming weekend. We enjoyed reconnecting with the older Phi Taus and had a great time at events. CAN YOU SIGN ON FOR ONE OR TWO CALLS? Finally, I want to remind everyone of the new Alumni Career Pairing system, which is designed to connect associate members with alumni who share their career interests and post-undergraduate goals. Please note this is not a mentorship program; it involves only one or two introductory calls between the new members and alumni. The connection is non- recurring, focusing on advice; after that, it is up to the brothers and alumni whether to continue. If you're interested in participating or opting into Alumni Career Pairing, please email wmr48@cornell.edu to indicate your interest. We still need more alumni to get involved for the program to be effective! Thank you for your support of Alpha Tau. E ach fiscal year, the Alpha Tau Chapter Fund raises several thousand dollars from our generous alumni. We raised only limited funds during the 23-24 fiscal year. While we believe some of the results were hindered by some confusion with the donation site, we still need alumni support. With all this in mind, we are asking for all alumni to help us make the next fiscal year stronger than ever. Now's your chance to make this year count! The Alpha Tau Chapter Fund covers the following areas, which are all key to chapter success: • Leadership – chapter programming and conference attendance • Scholarship – stipends for educational speakers • Brotherhood – sponsoring activities to promote strong brotherly bonds • Capital Projects – support the living experience on The Knoll • Discretionary Funds – assist with additional specific needs and objectives Every gift, no matter the size, has the power to change lives and help us create a brighter future for our fraternity.
