Kappa Sigma 5 T he chapter has had yet another successful and positive year. This summer Beta Chi won yet another FACE award—now 19 out of the past 20 years. Ten Brothers went to the leadership conference in NOLA to receive the award and hangout on Bourbon Street. We're already preparing for how we'll win the next one. The biggest change to the Chapter House has been the weight room. With all brand-new custom equipment and the expansion into the project room (pictures to come on social media). The project room for the most part has moved outside to the shed. We had another successful year of rush, with 25 new members. Congratulations goes to Tyler Trueman '22, Jack Holm '22, and the rush team on all their hard work Another major focus has been on academics. Our scholarship chairman, Jack Holm, has been doing a lot to try to change things for the better. This semester we had a fantasy football- inspired draft for teams with the highest GPA. Michael Lamping '22 and his team ended up having the highest average GPA at midterm (3.36). We've been working on getting approval from house corporation on a GPA based scholarship for the future. This past Greek Week, we earned second place among big houses and third overall. It just wasn't our year; however, the future looks bright for us and not so much for other houses. We've had a lot of success recently in intramurals with our softball A-team winning the championship. The DG4L softball team finished the season with a 4-1 record as well. Additionally, our flag football A-team came in second place. Regarding philanthropy and service, Roger Hausmann '23 and Matt Harmon '24 have been hard at work making sure everyone is getting their dollars and hours accrued. We've been doing a lot more events on campus, including selling root beer floats. Finally, we will be capping off the year with our White Columns Clean Up where we clean White Columns Drive all the way to the end of the street. Thank you, alumni, for all you do to help us. We hope to see you at the Chapter House again soon! Fraternally, Tim Guccione '21 Grand Master Undergr aduate Chapter Continues to Excel Brothers enjoy formal in Chicago.
