T ri Delta at the University of Oklahoma is proud to announce the groundbreaking for the new addition to our chapter house is complete! On Sunday, October 20, members of the chapter and House Corporation gathered along with family, friends, alumnae, and other supporters to celebrate this exciting project at 1611 College Avenue. is is the next phase of our $4 million renovation and expansion. HOUSE UPDATES e new addition will be completed without the need for members to move out, which will allow every class the opportunity to experience living in our beautiful home. e addition includes a large multi-purpose space connecting to the downstairs dining room that will serve as an additional study room and practice space for university events like Scandals and U-Sing and help host large groups. e space will be built using ICC 500 standards to double as a storm shelter to keep our members and guests safe. In addition to this large space, we will be adding new guest bathrooms downstairs and expanding the serving area and kitchen for better workflow. e second floor of our addition will include new executive bedrooms, including one with a private bathroom. It will also contain an upstairs laundry room, an additional group bathroom, and several new study and lounge spaces. As a precursor to the expansion, several large and necessary projects have already been completed, including an upgraded fire suppression system, installation of an upgraded water pipe leading to the chapter house, new electrical and fire panels, and the movement of all existing HVAC units to make way for our new addition. We also move several large pieces of kitchen equipment to a temporary location. Additionally, we were able to upgrade the study hall and get all-new furniture for that important space.
