XICLONE PAGE 4 W e are excited to share a new update from Iowa Xi Foundation as we approach the end of another successful year. This December marks the completion of our third year as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) entity, thanks in part to the generous bequest from Jim Victor '69. Since our inception, we have been dedicated to establishing a solid foundation that allows us to accept tax-deductible donations and provide vital financial support for the chapter and its members. We are thrilled to announce the establishment of multiple endowed funds within the Foundation. These funds, with a total value of over $170,000, have already made significant impacts: • Greg Stein Fund: $57,000 • Michael Dayton Fahning Scholarship: $36,000 • Concannon Endowment: $43,000 • Iowa Xi Chapter Endowment: $34,000 In just the past year, we have disbursed $17,000 for programs that directly benefit the chapter: • Graduating Senior Ceremony: $400 • MDF Scholarship: $1,000 • Concannon Scholarships: $1,500 • Upgrade Wi-Fi/Tech at Chapter: $3,500 • Grant for Centennial Dinner: $10,000 Morgan Stanley professionally manages Iowa Xi Foundation's Endowment as a permanent endowment, which means the investment income funds grants and scholarships, ensuring the endowment remains sustainable and perpetual, continuing to benefit future generations of Xi members. T his year has been one for the books, marking the 100th anniversary of Phi Kappa Theta at Iowa State University. We celebrated this incredible milestone with a jam-packed three-day weekend on April 26-28. In my first full year as the new president of the Alumni Chapter, I was honored to be part of this momentous occasion. I want to thank the Centennial Committee for their hard work and dedication to make the event a success. This year also marks a season of change for the organization, as the terms for many elected and appointed positions were up at the end of the year. I want to extend my gratitude on behalf of the organization to outgoing presidents Tom Mercer '89 (Building Corporation) and Joe Rude '81 (Foundation). Both will remain involved with the Fraternity, with Tom on the Foundation board and Joe as director emeritus for the Foundation. I would also like to welcome incoming Foundation President Greg Stolp '84 as he transitions from serving as Director of Development, and I owe appreciation to all the other members who finished their terms on their respective boards and committees. I also offer special thanks to those who committed to extending their terms. Your collective efforts are the engine that continues to drive forward progress for the Fraternity. Finally, a big welcome to the members new to our leadership organization; I appreciate your willingness to step up and continue the momentum! We are still looking for some key positions, including Building Corporation President, Director of Development, and Director of Communications. If you are interested in serving in one of these roles or providing your time and talents on one of our boards or committees, please get in touch with me or Paul Peterson '01 at paulpeterson13@ gmail.com. We have a lot in store for the coming years, including kicking off an effort to evaluate options for what is next for the Chapter properties. I look forward to a great 2025!
