5 Kappa Sigma Recruiting Promising New Brothers VNR Recruitment Franny Doerr '23 (Γ1934) I am a junior from Springfield, Pennsylvania. I achieved my goal as VNR recruitment of getting 20-25 new members who all want the best for this fraternity and for themselves. Obviously, I based this on quality and not quantity and made sure to get enough members to keep our finances running smoothly while growing the fraternity. I have also been making sure my executive members receive the help they need in their respected positions. I have been actively looking for new ways to recruit quality members that match with our morals so the next recruitment chairman is ready to go for spring recruitment. I think my job was very difficult this semester, but if anyone was suited for it, I believe I was the man to do it. Ramping up Social Engagement VNR Activities Tyler Hersh '23 (Γ1942) I 'm a junior accounting major in the Smeal College of Business from Titusville, New Jersey. Throughout my term, I have achieved many of my goals, including getting the chapter to start registering events again. We have had many brotherhood events (football watch parties, evenings on our deck) along with events with sororities (including a wedding!). There are still more to come as I finish off my term. I did not come into my position until this fall, but I want to keep helping this chapter get on the right track to be able to have safe events. As an executive board, we have created a risk plan that we hope to pass on to future executive boards to help them run events smoothly. I plan to set the next brother who holds this position up and help him along the way. Strengthening Our Finances VNR Finance Salvatore Petrelli '23 (Γ1954) I am in my second semester of serving as our VNR finance. I am from Staten Island, New York, and double majoring in economics and political science. As a chapter, we saw the number of active brothers significantly decrease when I was first elected. Figuring out how to navigate these difficult times while still promoting financial stability has always been my top priority. By promoting a good culture and holding our members accountable, we were able to collect 100% of total dues from last semester, something that, unfortunately, has not been too common for our chapter. From signing a new catering company to reducing our in-house damages, we have taken steps in the right direction. As the semester ends, my goals are to teach the younger brothers interested in the VNR finance position and set them up the best I can. I also had the privilege of serving as our Greek Sing chairman for 2024. Alpha Gamma Rho was paired with Kappa Alpha Theta. Our theme this year was superheroes vs. villains, and I'm proud to say we took home second place. Getting involved around campus is important for the growth of our fraternity, and it's always a fun time to make a connection with a sorority. Heading in the Right Direction VNR Planning Josh Peters '22 (Γ1932) A s I reflect on my time as VNR planning, I have concluded that moving on from this role will be bittersweet. I say that because I truly am sad to be leaving when I graduate in May. I cannot wait, however, to see the incredible things my successors will achieve, and in January, I plan to rewrite the terms of our suspension with the new executive board. From my first day in AGR, I knew that I wanted to steer this organization in a direction that would truly be a powerful resource for all members. I can confidently say the chapter has been trending in a positive direction, culture has improved, and morale is high. I am so proud of the positive influence our executive board has had on the chapter, as it will lead to continued success. This position truly tested our leadership skills, but it only made everything we accomplished that much more worth it in the end. Our chapter learned so much this year through our Plaid consultant partner, Chris Woods. The time and knowledge he provided for us through his educational leadership training was invaluable and will help shape our chapter for the future. To my executive board, I cannot thank you enough. All the dedication and time you put in made our achievements possible. I have been able to observe you all growing into passionate leaders within our organization. There is no group of people I would rather be leaving AGR to than the general body, and I have the utmost confidence our members will take it to even greater heights.
