The past year as Vice President of Membership
has been such a true honor and blessing. My
main roles were to oversee the productions of
Continuous Open Bidding (COB), Greek
Discovery Day, and Formal Recruitment. I
aimed to be a part of the narrative within
Kappa and OSU that we recruit solely based
off commonalities in values and morals. I
believe, as I know many others within Kappa
do, that Kappa's biggest strength is our
diversity and authenticity. I truly wanted to
push that to the forefront during recruitment
while still highlighting our values of truth,
optimism, connection, trailblazing, respect,
and knowledge. COB was a blast. We kicked
off by putting on an recruitment open house
event to welcome COB potential new members
to get to know our members.
We paired a potential new member at the door
with an active member to make vision boards for
the new year, enjoy yummy treats, and get to
know one another. This was a big success and I
believe something that the house really enjoyed
because each member was given the opportunity
to play a part in recruiting our spring class. We
recruited 11 wonderful girls this past spring. They
are each a shining light in Kappa, and bringing
them to this sweet sisterhood is one of my most
proud accomplishments. They are each bold,
confident, kind, generous, personable and truly
themselves. They have spent the past few months
fitting into the sisterhood so well, while still leaving
their mark and remaining to be their their own
individual woman. I am so proud to know them
and be a part of their journey.
