• 3 • SigmaPhiEpsilon TheSigEpTigerHeart I 'll start off with our most critical topic: recruitment. Missouri Alpha worked diligently this summer and fall to recruit a new member class of 47 (and counting). These young men were brought in through summer events in St. Louis, Mid-Missouri, and KC, along with Mizzou's IFC formal recruitment. Special thanks to VP of Recruitment Brenden Pauls '26 and the many alumni who generously provided support for summer events! Thanks especially to Vern Smith '73, Joe Brandel '91, and Greg Keller '86. Nearly 150 men strong, our brotherhood is living by the Balanced Man ideal, enjoying social events, academic programming, and our first values-based ritual of the year. It is well-known that SigEp set out to be a fraternity that was truly different, and watching our mission become a reality on this campus is truly an honor. There's strength in those membership numbers, including financial strength, and I'm happy to report that we already have 60 brothers committed to living in the house in fall 2025. LEGACY RELATED BROTHER(S) Names are listed left to right, starting in the front row The house has been full each of the past two years, but we'll max out next year, allowing reinvestment in the house and ensuring a great mix of upperclassmen and new members. Before we even returned to Columbia in August, brothers began preparing for an exciting Homecoming season. Our chapter was paired with ADPi and Phi Kap, and we worked tirelessly to put together a top-notch float, house decoration, skit, and dance. Given that MU awarded SigEp and ADPi the 2024 Fraternity and Sorority of the Year awards, respectively, we were thrilled to combine our talents and earn more hardware. Finally, Missouri Alpha is honored to have been selected by SigEp Headquarters as one of a select group of chapters to pilot the Balanced Man Program 2.0, which will continue SigEp's dominance in the realm of member development, further emphasizing single-tier membership, zero pledging or hazing, and the opportunity for each brother to choose the path that most benefits their college career, best preparing him for his next step into the professional world. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting many of our alumni brothers during football games and would love to hear from any of you regarding our great chapter! Fraternally, Wyatt Carlson '26 President wzcarlson0429@gmail.com Over 140 brothers gather for this year's Burning Heart Ceremony, celebrating SigEp's values of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love.
