BETA CHI NEWSLETTER 2 B eing a member of Beta Chi Chapter provides a unique and enriching experience that extends beyond the stereotypes often associated with Greek life. Being a Kentucky Kappa goes beyond the letters, colors, and symbols; it's about sisterhood, personal growth, and contributing to a larger community. This year has been a remarkable journey for Beta Chi, marked by numerous achievements in academics, philanthropy, campus involvement, and chapter events. Academics have always been a priority for our sisters, and this year was no exception. Our chapter achieved an impressive overall GPA of 3.43. Not only did the entire chapter demonstrate their dedication to academics, but 52 members earned a 4.0 GPA last fall—a feat we are incredibly proud of. This achievement highlights the hard work of our sisters and reinforces our commitment to academic excellence. In terms of philanthropy, we successfully hosted our annual "Kappa Kindness Week" last spring, which involved a full week of tabling events, activities, and a March Madness-style basketball tournament with other sororities and fraternities. Our campus involvement has flourished, with many sisters taking on leadership roles in various organizations. For instance, Haley Dynis '22 served as the publicity chairman for Kentucky Panhellenic, where she showcased her creativity and managed Panhellenic's social media accounts. Many other sisters participated in Panhellenic- hosted events, such as Chi Omega and Beta Theta Pi's Greek Sing. Our chapter formed a team and choreographed a dance routine to the theme of "Kappa Kappa Grammys." A team of Kappas also participated in the University of Kentucky's annual DanceBlue Marathon, which raises money for the university's pediatric hematology and oncology clinic. Additionally, the chapter organized a series of exciting sisterhood events throughout the year. Vice President of Internal Affairs Camryn Mudd '22 planned popular sisterhood events such as charm bracelet making and a pickleball tournament, which fostered connections among members. Our sisters have demonstrated a dedication to academics, philanthropy, campus involvement, and members' well-being. As we move forward as a chapter, we are excited to strengthen our sisterhood, continue supporting each other, and make a positive impact both within and beyond our campus community. Here's to another successful year! Loyally, Liv Shevlin '21 President Updates from the Undergraduates SISTERHOOD IN ACTION "I didn't choose Kappa; Kappa chose me.
