ALWAYS ALPHA PHI O M I C R O N C H A P T E R O F A L P H A P H I F A L L 2 0 2 4 HCB USES CAMPAIGN FUNDS TO FURTHER FURNISH HOUSE CREATING AN INVITING AND FUN SPACE Over the past year, the House Corporation Board has spent a great deal of time and resources continuing to furnish and update furniture throughout the house. In continuing to work with Julie Walberg Riggin '01 on the design, the focus has been on choosing new pieces that increase function and create an inviting and fun space students are thrilled to call home. The biggest project was the complete update of the furnishings and wall art in Study B, the room directly to the right upon entering through the south door. To anchor the room, twin blue curved sofas hug a large marble and brass coffee table. A long banquette with bistro tables and chairs was added to the east wall, while a show-stopping wall mirror art installation was hung to fill and add interest to the space. There are plans to possibly add a ventless fireplace. Many of you may remember the piano made its first home in this room after the new build—it has been relocated beneath the main staircase, a prominent place on the first floor. Study A received some new accessories such as wall art, which is highlighted with brass picture lights, and faux plants. HCB also added outdoor furniture to the front porch, an inviting touch for those who pass the house on Providence. Over the summer, two alumnae groups hosted three-day bespoke reunions at the house; they were wonderful events full of storytelling, reconnecting, and many, many laughs. It's another way the house is continuing to serve the needs of Omicrons—not just as a home for collegians but also a meaningful (and well-appointed) place for alumnae to gather on special occasions. Read more about their reunions on page 4. If you're interested in hosting a reunion or other special event at the house, contact Liz Underwood Drouin '99. What's next to tackle on HCB's agenda? We're continuing to furnish the house as we learn how the students use and want to use it for studying, socializing, and chapter business. We're exploring plans to add additional, permanent seating and art in the Grand Hall with the goal of providing more work and study space. We are also in the beginning stages of plans to finish the basement! Stay tuned for news about this potential project. House Corporation Board continues to be so grateful to the many campaign donors and volunteers whose time and treasure have made all the above projects possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Yours Loyally, Amy Jordan '87 House Corporation Board President A look at the beautiful decor in Studies A and B.
