THE ROAD TO 150 YE ARS OUR VISION FOR MISSISSIPPI ALPHA In our chapter's long history, we have called four different houses our home. In 1999 with the help of Pennington & Company, generous alumni donated their treasure to build our current home at 304 Fraternity Row. In the 25 years since, the house corporation and loyal alumni have funded important updates to ensure the chapter continues to thrive. To remain a top-tier fraternity among our competition, our home requires a capital investment to fuel a needed major renovation and expansion. The house corporation has hired a comprehensive team to make this vision a reality. Working with WBA Architecture out of Jackson, Mississippi, and Montgomery Martin contracting, the Memphis-based firm who built our current house and has Phi Delt connections, we will maximize our space and expand our footprint to 27,650 square feet. "This project remedies problems we have faced since the 1996 fire. We are building a modern version of the previous house, and that's a huge piece to mend that break. We are creating that sense of community by adding more living space." –Jay Cooke '82, House Corporation President PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS: • New façade paying tribute to the beloved "Big White House" that burned in 1996 • New spiral staircase in entry paying tribute to the original house • Second-floor addition of living space for brothers to be together • Increase live-in capacity from 22 to 56 beds • Goal to start construction in May 2025 and reopen by August 2026 • In the interim, the chapter has secured a lease on Fraternity Row for the 2025-26 academic year Estimated Project Cost: $11 Million A proposed rendering for Mississippi Alpha's renovated home.
