WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY FALL 2024 Updates from Washington Alpha I t has come to our attention that a recent event involving members of our Chapter is currently under investigation with the university. We want to assure you that we are working with all necessary parties, including Headquarters staff, to manage this responsibly. FRATERNAL COMMITMENT Prior to this incident, the Washington Alpha Alumni Volunteer Corporation (AVC) had already proactively taken steps to ensure our members remain committed to our oath of obligation. We recently implemented a program to bring a Chapter Success Specialist from our national office to oversee Chapter operations and be on campus frequently throughout the year. This advisor is helping ensure our members are living up to the high standards Sigma Phi Epsilon has long upheld and helping intermediate between members and the AVC, as many of us cannot visit Pullman regularly. Our Fraternity has a proud history and tradition, and we are committed to ensuring Washington Alpha continues to represent SigEp in the best possible light. We know that lifelong friendships and bonds are forged in this house, and brothers today must have the same opportunities for personal growth, leadership, and accountability that have shaped so many of us as alumni. STAY ENGAGED As we move forward, we are asking for your support. If you would like to be part of our ongoing efforts to enhance and uphold the standards of SigEp, we encourage you to get involved. Whether applying your specific skills to the AVC, through mentorship, or simply by offering advice, there are many ways you can help. Please reach out to me for more details on how you can contribute. Our annual fall AVC meeting will be held on November 16. A separate email will be sent to provide details on where, when, and dial-in options. We take our reputation, heritage, and history seriously. Together, we can ensure Washington Alpha remains a shining example of what SigEp represents, both now and for generations to come. Fraternally, Josh Palmer '08 Washington Alpha AVC President joshua.james.palmer@gmail.com Why do you work with SigEp? By working for Sigma Phi Epsilon National, I can assist my brothers across the country, helping drive them toward success. This is my first year as a Chapter Success Specialist, and it's been nothing but rewarding thus far. What does a Chapter Success Specialist do? I assist chapters with recruitment, alumni involvement, housing operations, financial statements, member experience, and more. In addition to working with undergraduates, I also work closely with each Chapter's Alumni Volunteer Corporation to help achieve their goals. I focus on a smaller portfolio of Chapters—only four in my case—allowing me the time to help in all areas of operation.
