2 E ta Zeta Chapter has been busy since my last article! In the spring, we hosted a crawfish boil where alumni and undergraduates gathered at the house to eat crawfish boiled by Read Areingdale HZ1434 and Luke Hackney HZ1452. We hope to continue this tradition in coming years. Campus Involvement Kicking off Greek Week, Louisiana Tech SGA hosted its annual Big Event where campus organizations come together for service projects. Our chapter was on trash duty for a few roads on the north side of Lincoln Parish. We enjoyed being able to keep our community clean! Brothers Walker Forsyth HZ1449 and Jordan Orr H1461 accepted SGA cabinet positions. Jordan was elected to public relations and Walker was elected to internal affairs. I can't talk about spring quarter without mentioning formal! In April, we loaded up on charter buses and took our annual trip to Panama City for White Rose Formal. It was great to come together as a brotherhood and take our dates on a fun trip. Ending spring quarter with graduation, we were proud to see 13 members walk across the stage and receive diplomas. Congratulations, gentlemen! Summer Activities We kept ourselves busy this summer. Recruitment chairmen and their committee worked hard during orientations. e org browse they attended went great, and it certainly paid off during recruitment! We hosted two cleanups to get the house in shape for the school year and recruitment. Multiple alumni also showed up to help. We appreciate our alumni making efforts to stay involved and lead by example! We plan on continuing this in the upcoming years. Focused in the Fall Back to school is always an exciting time! is year, we had 102 active members returning to Louisiana Tech. Our first box on the checklist was our back-to-school party, Electric Avenue. It was a great way to kick off the year! Next on the schedule was recruitment. Our chairmen did a phenomenal job this summer meeting and recruiting potential new members, getting them interested in Sigma Nu and Greek life. As always, recruitment was a blast! My favorite part is giving house tours; the potential new members loved the house and asked several questions. We are proud of the establishment alumni have provided for us. At the end of the week, we had 50 gentlemen pick up their bids. Each is excited to join our brotherhood. Upcoming Events We plan to focus hard on philanthropy this fall, and we believe we have assets available to make a significant impact. We recently cooked burgers Always Moving Forward Eta Zeta Carries Momentum into the Fall on campus for Habitat for Humanity. Soon aer, the pledge class of '24 continued our car wash fundraiser tradition. ese donations also support Habitat for Humanity. We have a busy schedule for the rest of the fall, with exchanges planned with sororities and our annual Halloween party and Homecoming. At the end of fall quarter, we will do nominations for our new top four. I can confidently say we will have some great candidates in the running to lead our chapter! While this may be my last article, I plan on staying heavily involved. If there is anything I can do, feel free to contact me by phone or email. I am honored to have served as Commander and to inform you on our great chapter! Fraternally, Cooper Walsworth HZ1432 (318) 278-9656 jcoopw@icloud.com Brothers gather at our alumni crawfish boil. Jordan Orr '22 (left) and Walker Forsyth '22 after being elected to SGA. Josh Whitton '22 (left) and John Nelson '89 help at one of the summer cleanups. CHAPTER GOALS Increase our chapter-wide philanthropic efforts. Start planning an effective transition phase for the next top four. Instill our values, traditions, and upcoming improvements to the newest candidate class.
