H H H Sigma kappa O ver the past semester, Xi has achieved many notable successes. To start the fall 2024 semester, Xi welcomed 96 new members through fall formal recruitment. We are proud of our recruiters for working hard throughout Work Week and recruitment to promote our sisterhood. Hosting a cherry-themed Bid Day to welcome our new members was the "cherry on top" of it all! As we continue our recruitment process through continuous open recruitment, we are enjoying getting to know and welcome more new members into Xi. Sisterhood Chairman Isabelle Blasdel '23 worked extremely hard to plan a variety of fun events throughout Work Week, which our members enjoyed immensely. These included charm bracelet making, slime making, glass cup painting, a movie night, and more! Additionally, for our annual sisterhood retreat, Isabelle planned a fun day for Xi members at the Espurresso Cat Cafe here in Lawrence. Thank you for all your hard work, Isabelle. In the spring 2024 semester, Xi achieved a 3.4 GPA. We continue to be proud of all members' academic achievements and appreciate the support from our academic officers: Vice President of Academic Excellence Laney Turner '22 and assistants Sofia Cialdella '23 and Claire Batchelder '22. Monthly study parties and weekly mystic bonds are always favorite ways to spend time with sisters while getting work done! Xi was beyond ecstatic to celebrate Sigma Kappa's historic 150th Founders Day with our amazing alumnae at our Founders Day/Week of Giving Kickoff Party. We were able to connect with alumnae and active members, learn about our founders and all the outstanding members who have been a part of our sisterhood, and highlight chapter excellence. Additionally, we had a silent auction, which raised money for Sigma Kappa Foundation. Other highlights from our fall 2024 semester include philanthropy events organized by Vice President of Philanthropic Service Maddie Hartley '21, such as a Strike Out Alzheimer's softball tournament and our annual Walk to End Alzheimer's in which members fundraise to support the Alzheimer's Association; KU Homecoming and our Homecoming Alumnae Brunch on October 20, where alumnae members were able to come back to Xi and mingle with active members; and the planning and audition phase of Rock Chalk Revue.
