A s the new Board of Trustees chairman for Delta Kappa, I'm pleased to share my outlook on our esteemed chapter's upcoming year. Our chapter has a rich history spanning decades, and I'm confident that it is poised for continued success in the years to come. WORTHY RECOGNITION First, I'm impressed by the caliber of young men joining our leadership ranks. The current executive members exemplify the values and principles that Alpha Tau Omega holds dear. Their commitment to leadership, scholarship, and service is evident in their 3.28 GPA and the numerous community involvement activities. This foundation of excellence bodes well for the chapter's future as these brothers graduate and become influential alumni. One of our key strengths lies in the bonds between active members and alumni. John Esche '08 and I were able to attend the 86th ATΩ Congress this past August in Tucson, Arizona, where we witnessed the chapter receive the True Merit Award. We couldn't be prouder of the men bringing this award home after a yearslong drought. Well deserved! SEEKING MENTORS The BOT is laying the foundation for key mentorship programs to implement with actives and alumni to build meaningful connections and career opportunities. This intergenerational support network is crucial for maintaining our chapter's legacy and ensuring its continued relevance in an ever-changing collegiate and career landscape. One key program we're excited to implement is Men of Destiny through the assistance of ATΩ Nationals. Please email me at jamesryanbenson@gmail.com to discuss ways you can get involved. BUILDING A LEGACY Technology and changing social dynamics present both challenges and opportunities for Greek life. Our chapter must remain adaptable and forward-thinking to attract and retain high-quality new members. I'm pleased to see the proactive steps taken by our leadership to promote the foundational values of ATΩ in their new membership program. The chapter recently pledged 77 new members in the 2024 fall class. Our chapter size continues to grow, and I encourage all our brothers to continue seeking innovative ways to serve and lead, as these experiences are invaluable for personal development and community outreach efforts. Alumni engagement remains a top priority for ensuring the long-term success of Delta Kappa. John Esche is exploring new ways to keep our alumni connected and involved and has a slate of football tailgates during this inaugural season in the SEC. The insights and resources our alumni provide are invaluable in guiding the chapter's strategic direction and supporting our active members. Be sure to stop by our tailgates to say hello and meet the men! Email ouatoalumni@ yahoo.com for more information. As we look to the future, I'm confident that Delta Kappa will continue to thrive. Our strong foundation, coupled with the energy and dedication of our current members, positions us for sustained excellence. We must remain committed to our core values while being open to growth and change. I want to express my gratitude to all the brothers, past and present, who have contributed to the success of our chapter. Your dedication and support have made Delta Kappa a shining example of what a fraternity can and should be. A special thanks to JB Alexander '10, who recently finished his term as chapter advisor for the past three years. He did a fantastic job serving the chapter, and we're very thankful for the impact he made with the actives. As we move forward, we're excited to have Shaq Harris '14 fill in the chapter advisor role. The future of Delta Kappa is bright, and I'm honored to be part of this enduring legacy.
