2 U N D E R G R A D U A T E A C T I V I T Y A N D A C A D E M I C S U C C E S S Never a Dull Moment at MIT T he name Reagan Zimmerman has been synonymous with Beta Theta Pi for the classes of 2018 to 2022. From the moment she realized there were no restrictions on women attending recruitment events, Reagan attended them all during her first year, beating the attendance records of many active Brothers. Drawn to the camaraderie and energy of Beta Theta Pi, she quickly felt a sense of belonging, even though the formal induction process was never on the table. Despite this, Reagan was a constant presence at mixers, parties, and even some brotherhood events. It was almost destined that her frequent interactions with the Beta Brothers would lead to something more. Over Labor Day weekend, Reagan's place in Beta Theta Pi was solidified in a different way—she married Swochchhanda "Swoosh" Shrestha '21, officially making her a cherished part of the Beta family as an "in-law." The wedding was filled with joyful memories, but one story from the best man, Nico Salines '21, stands out. Nico recounted a memorable lunch in the Student Union with Reagan and Swoosh: "Reagan, Swoosh, and I were chatting over lunch when the topic of the winter formal came up. 'Hey, Reagan, were you planning on going to the winter formal?' Swoosh asked. 'Well, not really. No one has asked me yet…' Reagan replied. Swoosh paused for a second and said, 'Hmm, I know! Nico, you should take Reagan.'" Apparently, Nico and Reagan had a lovely winter formal. It took a bit of time, but eventually Swoosh picked up on the hints. Congratulations to the new couple, and to Reagan, who is finally a Beta (in-law). Yours in _kai_, Chris Briere '19 Reagan Zimmerman: Finally a Beta "Sister" Betas gather at Swoosh's wedding.
