Arrow Talk PAGE 2 SPRING HIGHLIGHTS Oklahoma Beta had an eventful spring filled with sisterhood, philanthropy, date parties and lots of Pi Phi love! • We welcomed nine amazing new members from Continuous Open Bidding (COB). • We hosted two philanthropy events, Pie a Pi Phi and Wing Ching, which raised more than $7,000 for Read > Lead > Achieve ® . • At the annual Greek Awards banquet, Oklahoma Beta took home the Membership Development Award! This is awarded to the chapter with the best overall new member, chapter leadership and member development programs. We also had the highest chapter GPA with a 3.6! FALLING INTO A NEW SEMESTER The momentum has continued as we kicked off another great semester. This recruitment season, we welcomed home 57 new members and met both quota and chapter totals. Recruitment looked different than normal this year while we wait for our new chapter house, but both Spirit Week and recruitment were a great success! Using the Alumni Association on campus, we were able to have a great two weeks full of fun, hard work and love for Pi Beta Phi. The chapter has done an incredible job during this adjustment, and it could not have gone any better. We cannot wait for recruitment out of our beautiful new home for all the years to come! This fall still has lots of fun in store with Homecoming, Freshman Follies, Football Frenzy, initiation, philanthropy events and more on the horizon. We are paired with the men of Sigma Nu for Homecoming and began pomping in August. For Freshman Follies, we are paired with with the men of Sigma Chi. Additionally, we are excited to raise funds this fall for our new local philanthropy, In the Middle of a Miracle. This organization was started by Oklahoma Beta's own Brooklyn Hawkins '23, who wanted to help children battling pediatric cancer after overcoming her own battle with cancer. We could not be more excited about all that is in store this semester, and we are looking forward to making more lifelong memories with one another!
