10 | e Jewelry Book Greetings from fabulous Las Vegas! [Y'all know I live here, right?] So, a day or so before COUTURE began, back in May, Nicole asked what I thought about putting together a COUTURE Scrapbook for this issue. Just some fun photos of jewelry and jewelry designers, taken while in my various meetings. Since that's what you're gonna be seeing on the following four pages, filled as they are with dazzling jewels and delightfully talented designers, suffice to say I was definitely onboard. Dive into the deep blue of Goshwara's gorgeous necklace of cushion-cut Ceylonese sapphire. Lose yourself the verdant green of the "Pristine Emerald" which those clever Hadjibays at Bayco have set into a resplendently regal ring. Wonder at the whimsy of Lydia Courteille's opal-winged "Insect" brooch/ pendant. Regale in the love for the varying hues of sapphires Alexander Laut displays in his "Liliales" rings. e carved emerald in Saboo Fine Jewelry is sure to draw your eye, but don't gloss over those natural saltwater pearls from Basra! And speaking of pearls, the three pairs of matching oval-shaped South Sea pearls in Assael's "Ellipse" earrings are exquisite; while Moksh continues to amaze with the tapestry-like fabric of their woven pearl necklace. And for anyone who missed the 'big beads' memo, this year, simply gaze upon the enormous green amethyst strand by Victor Velyan, the lush triple strand of Sonoran turquoise by Jorge Adeler, or the magnificent strand of Gobstopper-sized Ethiopian opals by Crevoshay. Mastery of the Byzantine art of micro-mosaic is on display with SICIS Jewels's "Saturno" and "Damisa" rings (as well as the "Damisa" necklace around the neck of my puppy, Riley); and also, with a contempo- rary twist using lapis lazuli and yellow diamond tesserae by the indefatigable Sevan Biçakçi. Mean- while, nobody does enamel like Şinork Ağdere, as evidenced by Lord Jewelry's exquisite "Fan" necklace. Opals continue to beguile on the finger (as with Syna Jewels' unique olive-green cabochon Ethiopian opal Mogul ring), and around the neck (the incred- ible boulder opal in Jamie Turner's "Toya" necklace). LALAoUNIS' savvy in interpreting classic gold- smithing techniques for today's clients and collec- tors knows no bounds; Coomi Bahsin's love for ancient civilizations is on display with the fabulous Coomi pendant that juxtaposes the Greek zodiac with the nine Navaratna stones; and Amrapali London combines enamel, polki diamonds and 22k gold on a ring that spins and gives me life! Silvia Furmanovich evokes smiles with her cheery Marquetry necklace with diamonds, enamel, and carnelian; Dominic Jones has me gobsmacked with his "Night Sky" enameled Moon signet ring for 886 by e Royal Mint; and Arunashi has blown my mind with the inlaid Bombe ring; while Nancy and Dakota Badia continue to deliver the coolest of vibes with Buddha Mama's "Dreamcatcher" necklace (hello, lagoon tourmaline!). Maison Alix Dumas brings new materials to light with the "Antarctica" bracelet and "Andalucia" ring; Andreoli's "Dragonfly" brooch will be the envy of lapels far and wide (starting with mine); the elon- gated baguettes set horizontally in Ara Vartanian's "Flair" earrings are at once slick, sleek, and stylish; and if I have to extol to you the virtues of Sutra's stunning necklace featuring Deco-inspired motifs of baguettes, cushion-cut, and emerald-cut diamonds, then you're probably reading the wrong magazine. Just remember, while we're looking at COUTURE 2024 in the rearview, the incredible pieces and designs seen there – and in this COUTURE Scrapbook – will be front and center in stores and on the pages of consumer publications until COUTURE 2025 returns to Wynn Las Vegas, next year.
