THE INDIANA GRAM A Year of Improvement Reflecting on Our Successes, Looking Ahead to Fall 2024 has been a year of growth and perseverance for Indiana Gamma. With the executive council entirely composed of freshmen and sophomores, a younger generation has had the opportunity to enact positive changes within the chapter. With a renewed focus on accountability and risk management, the chapter has strengthened its commitment to upholding high standards and fostering a supportive community environment. Additionally, we'd like to congratulate the class of 2024 and wish them the best in their endeavors after college. Over half the junior class was fortunate enough to study abroad during the spring semester in places such as Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, and Copenhagen. Back in Bloomington, remaining members concentrated on academics, leading to an increase in the overall GPA. Additionally, involvement in various clubs, organizations, and workshops has enhanced their educational experiences at Indiana University. Little 500 riders Matthew Naas '27, Lucas Lemme '26, and Rhett Skarvna '26, led by captain Luke Naas '25, proudly represented Indiana Gamma this spring. Gamma cycling finished sixth among the field, finishing all 200 laps just seconds behind the leader. With no graduating seniors, the same team will spend the next two semesters training before competing again in 2025. Looking forward, Indiana Gamma is planning for fall 2024 with excitement. Led by Joey Fuerst '25, the ΣAE basketball team will defend their title in the Greek Basketball Association. Additionally, plans are underway for Dad's Weekend, a fall alumni event, and philanthropic involvement with our national cause, NDMP. Homecoming will take place on October 18-20, and the chapter is beyond excited to be paired with Gamma Phi Beta. Finally, the chapter has put an increased emphasis on connecting alumni, new and old, through a private LinkedIn group, "Sigma Alpha Epsilon - Indiana Gamma." This allows for chapter officers to post directly to a group of active and alumni members alike. To any alumni out there looking to stay more up to date with the chapter, we'd love to see you join!
