(Need a refresher? Find the digital copy at tinyurl.com/BetaMagazineFall2023) The workmanship in the restoration is exceptional to include the rebuilding of the famous dock. As a U of Arizona Delta Beta burdened with "holding the fort together" in managing the Delta Beta Chapter house while the chapter has been closed for the past four years, I found the article stimulating given the careful structure of the 501(c)(7) and its relationship with a 501(c)(3) set up to capitalize a historical building restoration and management. Everything Alpha Pi leadership did could be applied to the old Delta Beta house. I called the chapter and was eventually referred to Bart Kocha '80. Bart and many of his peers have helped guide the board of University of Arizona Beta Theta Pi Alumni Association through the steps of getting our chapter house at 638 E. University Boulevard in Tucson designated historically significant. They also helped with how to request recognition by the Deptartment of Interior the need for a proactive nonprofit to be established to raise tax-deductible funds to be used to restore and maintain our neo-classic building and grounds. We hope to have the 501(c)(3) in operation by July this year, which will tie into the recolonization of Delta Beta Chapter by Beta Theta Pi.
