Pi Kappa Alpha
A LOOK BACK AT 2023-24
Beta Mu's year has been full of memorable events, fraternal growth and opportunities to help our
community. Here's a few of the recent memories made by our PIKE brotherhood.
Congratulations to the new chapter executive
committee. These men took office in May 2024 and serve for
one year. Jacob Sedlacek '22 is serving as president along with
a leadership team excited to continue the traditions of Texas
PIKE. Big thanks to the outgoing EC, led by Joey Benton '21!
PIKE partnered with the Texas Darlins basketball spirit group,
hosting a successful 4x4 charity basketball tournament on
April 7 at the PIKE house. Twenty-two student organizations
participated, purchasing teams that raised $6,000 to be
split between the Boys and Girls Club of Austin and Face It
Foundation (focusing on men's mental health).
These Pikes enjoyed Panama City Beach and a stop through
New Orleans on their way home for spring break in March.
Third-generation Pike Wilson Welch '20 with his parents,
Stacey and Cam, at October Parents Weekend. Cam '87
is a Texas Tech Pike, as was Wilson's grandfather.
New Members Albert Medina '23, Jackson Dupree '23 and
Garrett Blanton '23 welcomed two new PIKE Sweethearts at
the Alpha Chi Omega house. PIKE's Sweetheart program has
16 ladies in 2023-24 from Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Phi,
Delta Gamma, Kappa Delta and Zeta Tau Alpha.
The Beta Mu Legends Awards were presented by the Alumni
Association during October's Alumni Day. The Distinguished
Leadership Award went to John Rathmell '76 (right with wife
Peggy). Taylor Randazzo '08 (left with wife Neelie) received
the Under 40 Service Award. The late actor Morgan
Woodward '49 received the posthumous Legend Award.
