SPRING 2024 The Squirrel's Nest S ince Nancy Richeson Siniard '74 was initiated, she has embodied all things Alpha Gamma Delta and truly lived the Purpose. Holding bachelor's and master's degrees in communication from The University of Alabama, Nancy has tirelessly served Psi Chapter and her hometown Huntsville alumnae club. She has contributed via various roles, including leadership, recruitment, House Corporation, and as chairwoman of the capital campaign for the new sorority house. Nancy used her marketing expertise and connections with many Psi members to organize leaders for our campaign by city, pledge class, and decade. She received all the praise and all the complaints while keeping communication lines open to everyone. Nancy handled this position with grace and poise while working full-time as the managing partner of Total Com Marketing, volunteering in several civic positions, and planning her son's wedding. We were told early on that we would not be able to raise a significant sum from the fund established for the beginning phases of the campaign; however, through hard work and dedication, Nancy led us to raise $1.425 million! Her work for Psi Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta has been faithful, continual, and outstanding. Nancy received The University of Alabama Distinguished Alumni Award in 2015. She revealed that her most meaningful experience at the Capstone was her time as a "Crimson Girl," now known as Capstone Women. "The opportunity to be a 'gracious hostess' for the university was invaluable," she said. "The lessons learned, the contacts made, and the friendships formed have had a lifelong impact on me." Nancy parlayed these experiences into her most recent achievement. On Saturday, April 22, 2023, she was officially selected as The University of Alabama National Alumni Association President-Elect for 2023-24 and will soon assume the position of president for the 2024-25 term. In this role, she will work to connect alumni across the country and to foster continued interest in the university by showcasing faculty, administrators, facilities, and athletic programs. Over the next year, she will be traveling to promote scholarships and other support for UA students and to encourage prospective students to attend the university. We are grateful for Nancy's selfless service and know she will represent The University of Alabama and Psi Chapter well in her new role!
