Page 3 O ur brothers were incredibly involved on campus this year with Marketing Director Orland Jensen '26 and Graduate Assistant Ben Nichols '24, organizing nearly 40 events through the Student Entertainment Board and gaining invaluable experience. Both brothers honed their skills in event promotion and leadership. Elsewhere on campus, Mason Menser '26 lent his expertise as a technical assistant for the Institute for Shock Physics, ensuring smooth laboratory operations. Akash Rathnayaka '26 transitioned from guiding new Cougs to assisting with admissions for WSU, highlighting his commitment to supporting fellow students. FOSTERING DIVERSE CONNECTIONS We also had a tremendous impact on our community beyond campus. Brother Trenton Walters '26 took the position of Moscow Middle School Basketball coach, instilling values of teamwork and resilience in his players. The Fraternity also volunteered with the Pullman Chamber of Commerce for the annual holiday caroling event, spreading joy and festive cheer to the Pullman community and handing out cookies and hot beverages in the town square. In terms of leadership, brothers Luke Deschenes '24 and Maccabee Werndorf '24, president and vice president of ASWSU, championed initiatives promoting inclusivity and academic excellence. The Cougar Lobbying Team, led by ASWSU director of legislative affairs, organized "Coug Day at the Capitol," where brothers Mason Menser, Luke Deschenes, and Maccabee Werndorf lobbied in Olympia for higher education advocacy. The Alumni Golf Tournament strengthened bonds of brotherhood, fostering connections and memories among undergraduates and alumni through a scramble golf tournament hosted at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course. NEW PATHS FORWARD Some brothers also furthered their professional business ventures. For example, Felipe Torres '26 and Orland Jensen '26 began working for an AI startup called Pangeon (as CMO and marketing director, respectively), demonstrating the Fraternity's innovative mindset through their marketing practices. Felipe also formed his own startup called "Plum," an AI tool for online customer service, which is in its beginning stages. All of this showcases SigEp's commitment to fostering entrepreneurial endeavors. Washington Alpha recruited 31 new members for the fall 2023 class and seven new members for the spring 2024 class, reaching our recruitment goal. We have also assigned new executive board positions, each member bringing unique skills and experiences to guide our Fraternity toward continued growth and success. As we reflect on past achievements and look ahead, we extend our deepest gratitude to our alumni for their unwavering support.
