3 alpha gamma rho O ur house has been in a rebuilding phase for the past year, and we have all worked hard to better ourselves and our chapter. We have had numerous meetings and conversations with our alumni regarding where we are as a chapter and where we want to be in the next year. Through this process, I have learned more about the benefits of utilizing our alumni as we deal with what comes with a rebuilding process. Since I was elected, I have preached and emphasized the importance of a strong relationship with our alumni. As a brotherhood, we understand that though they have come before us, they are still our brothers and are here to see us succeed as a chapter as well as individuals. In the coming months, I want to find a way for our active undergraduate members to connect with Alpha Gamma Rho alumni who are working or have worked in the field they plan to pursue upon graduating. A strong connection with chapter and National alumni opens the door to more opportunities for our brothers beyond college. VNR Alumni Relations Brenden Battavio '23 (Γ19138) Building Strong Relationships I am a sophomore from Springfield, Pennsylvania. My goal for next semester is to continue what previous recruitment chairmen have started and recruit a decent- sized class of around 30 men. I am basing this on quality and not quantity, but I would like to help the next finance chairman by increasing the number of actives so we can continue to run our fraternity as smoothly as possible. I think this is feasible considering we will be allowed to have a zone day next semester. As of now, I have not done much on exec because we were not allowed to recruit this spring. I have been actively looking for ways to recruit quality men who match our morals. I plan on scheduling a Zoom call with ELC Ben Willoughby, Omicron '15 over the summer so I can start planning recruitment with him and get a head start on fall 2024 recruitment. I think my job will be difficult, but if anyone is suited for it, I believe I am. It will help that I am living in the house next year so I can easily speak with the other executive board members and go over plans. VNR Recruitment Franny Doerr '23 (Γ1934) GROWING THE BROTHERHOOD I am a junior from Buckhannon, West Virginia, majoring in geobiology. I came to Penn State to make connections and lifelong friends, which led me to join AGR. In my term, I have actively improved makeshift study spaces into functional study rooms with multiple desks and study tools. As one of two executive board members living in-house, I have made it a priority to improve the organization of the house. I also serve as the property manager, where my main priority is providing parking spots for brothers and renters. In the fall, I am organizing a "Football Parking Pass" for Gamma alumni to pay to park their vehicle at the AGR house and get rides to the stadium for the game. Due to our suspension and expulsion of brothers, we have had significant downtime. Most of my time and effort has gone into planning for next semester so I can hit the ground running. VNR Scholarship Dylan Cornett '22 (Γ1927) Improving the House I am a sophomore from Rochester, New York, pursuing a dual major in finance and accounting. This semester, one of my main goals was to encourage the brotherhood to get more involved with helping improve the house. Through our collaborative efforts, we completed various small-scale projects to revitalize some spaces, included fixing up our library, keeping our storage areas more organized, and touching up the paint around the house. I believe involving more brothers in improving the house gives everyone a greater sense of pride that will hopefully be passed on to future brothers. I would like to continue this effort throughout my term and work with alumni on larger projects. One of my main goals is to return our Great Hall to the pristine shape it was in many years ago. When my time on the executive board has ended, I want to be able to look back and see that I have made a positive change.
