The chapter is currently under suspension until August 2024. Starting in fall 2024, the chapter will be under probation but will be able to function as an active chapter and recruit new members. Chapter Training The undergraduates have been going through a training program sponsored by the Plaid group through AGR Home Office. The training has been broken into two full weekends in spring 2024 and two full weekends in fall 2024. The goal of the training is to give the members a better idea of who they are, how to function as an organization, and how to make better decisions as a group. I attended the first session with the undergraduates and was very happy with their attitude and participation. We still have good young men in the house, and I look forward to moving forward with them in their growth. Make Great Hall Great Again Campaign Update New furniture for the Great Hall was delivered in late fall 2023. Thank you to all of you who have donated to this project. We could not have done it without your support. During the fall 2023 semester, we replaced the exhaust fan for the kitchen/stove area. The fan was from our 2010 update to the house and needed full replacement. The cost for the project came in at $6,800. It was a needed repair for the house to function as normal. Mortgage Drive We are kicking off a new mortgage effort to drive down our mortgage debt. In fall 2019, our mortgage sat at $930,000. With the help rent and alumni donations, we were able to bring the mortgage down to $595,000 in spring 2024. We would love to keep making extra payments on the mortgage to continue lowering it. We need alumni help and support to keep the progress moving. If you can help us in the process, it would be greatly appreciated. Get Involved I encourage all alumni to become involved with the Gamma alumni group. We are always accepting help, and you can do so in many ways. Some give their time while others give their expertise, advice, or financial support. If you would like to become more involved, please contact me or others on the board.
