CHI PSI • UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON • SPRING 2024 S T A T E O F T H E A L P H A Looking Ahead After a Great Spring T he trees surrounding the Lodge are beginning to fill in again, the grass looks sharp, and the views of Lake Washington are crisp. BROTHERS LEADING THE WAY… The West Coast Rowe Regional Conference in Boulder at Psi Delta was a big highlight along with this year's University of Washington Greek Awards, where we walked away with six trophies! Brothers have worked hard this winter, and a recent alumni résumé workshop helped substantially as we apply to internships and prepare for future careers. If you would like to facilitate your own workshop or program at the Lodge, we would love for you to reach out so we can find a time for you to come! …AND FINDING TIME FOR FUN While spring mainly focused on our studies, we still made the best of our downtime. The annual Couve formal was a resounding success this February. The Wicklow provided a great venue with excellent views of the Vancouver skyline, and live music at The Roxy did not disappoint. International travel was not limited to our northern neighbors; brothers studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain, and Sydney, Australia. We are excited to welcome them back to the Lodge following unique experiences overseas! STAYING FOCUSED New #2 Matthew Gerardo '26, #3 Conner Murphy '26, and #4 Nicholas Valades '26 work tirelessly to continue strong efforts at the Lodge. Brother Valades is also our philanthropy chairman and recently coordinated our Coffee and Conversations event. The Alpha partnered with Bulldog News and Cafe on the Ave to raise money for LifeWire and spread awareness for Denim Day and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Our new leadership group has stepped up as we transition these prominent positions down the classes. Meanwhile, the rising senior class is eager to remain active while moving into the annex this summer. CONTINUING TO GROW The approaching summer presents another great opportunity for recruiting. We have already begun efforts for the upcoming fall class with Brothers Mark Crochiere '27, Yuichiro Murakami '27, and Logan Dice '27 leading the recruitment team. On-campus brothers understand that the backbone of Chi Psi is the replenishment of new gentlemen into the fraternity. We are also excited to welcome our new group of summer live-ins as we enjoy the beautiful backyard of the Lodge with close friends! WE COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT ALUMNI We are truly grateful for the support our strong alumni base provides us every year, and we thank you for your continued help! Any possible recruitment referrals to grow the Alpha would be greatly appreciated as well. I look forward to seeing you all at the Lodge soon! YITB, Justin Saunders '25, Alpha Theta Delta #1 chipsipresident@gmail.com The Lodge partnered with Kappa Kappa Gamma to raise money during Greek Week. Brothers celebrate as Theta Delta won six awards at this year's IFC Greek Awards ceremony, the most of any fraternity on campus. Brothers man a table in the quad as part of the Alpha's Coffee and Conversations fundraising event.
