The late David Guinnup '75 and William "Billy" Mathias '78 conceived the idea upon discovering that seven-ounce bottles of Little Kings Cream Ale fit nicely in a golf bag without drawing the attention of the golf starter. It was also a great excuse for an annual reunion to enjoy the fellowship that began in the Ep Lodge. Since then, the tournament has moved to locations around the country, including Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, and Milwaukee, with occasional visits to Purdue. This year, the brothers made the half-hour drive south to Harrison Hills Country Club in Attica, Indiana, to wage the battle for the highly coveted crown and scepter prize. Sadly, the crown and scepter have been lost; we now earn participation points that are rewarded in the form of good times and memories that began many years ago. Some of the brothers stayed for Homecoming and the historic reopening of the SigEp house. Everyone was gratified by seeing the Sigma Phi Epsilon heart restored to its rightful location on the front of the house, beckoning us toward the red door and another era of brotherhood for generations to come.
