Sigma Phi Epsilon Page 7 A LEADER FOR LIFE Brady Alexander '22 Makes an Impact at SigEp and UF B rady Alexander '22 made the most of his undergraduate experience at the University of Florida and is proud of several accomplishments. As a member of Florida Alpha Chapter, Brady is proud to have made an impact on Sigma Phi Epsilon through his role as a Student Director on the SigEp National Board, where he had the opportunity to provide input, guidance, and consultation on pressing issues within the Greek community, especially the importance of mental health in undergraduates. "Since the beginning of my time on the board, we started talking about implementing these resources, and while I am no longer on the board, it is fulfilling seeing the pilots of the new mental health program roll out to individual chapters," he shared. As a collegian, Brady was involved in large leadership positions on campus. As Florida Blue Key president, he led a capital campaign that raised $1.6 million for the Florida Blue Key Endowment. "This endeavor taught me the importance of alumni and giving back to organizations that make young leaders every day." Brady also served as executive producer of Gator Growl, bringing the Homecoming event back after COVID-19. Brady was not only a leader for the national Fraternity and UF, but he held several officer positions within Florida Alpha: vice president of communications, where he learned how to incorporate the ideas of the Chapter to satisfy everyone and how to manage a brand's image; vice president of programming, which taught him how to manage risk and provided him with organizational development and project management skills; and vice president of finance, which taught him important skills and terms for financial accounting. Invaluable skills weren't all that Brady gained through his membership; he also developed a close-knit group of friends whom he knows he can always count on. His brothers have pushed him to excel but have also been there to lend a helping hand. Since graduating, the friends have enjoyed an annual reunion together. SigEp has also given Brady mentors, allowing him to form meaningful relationships with alumni and develop professionally. Now, it has come full circle as he has had the opportunity to mentor others as the resident scholar of the AVC board. Brady joined the board so he could give back to the Chapter that has given him many opportunities over the years. In his position, he helps undergraduates with interview and resume preparation and advises on navigating college and beyond. His goal is to bridge the relationship between the AVC and the undergraduate Chapter. "The AVC has many resources, especially in terms of mentorship for the active members, whereas the AVC can continue to build on its relationship with the undergraduates by engaging in my functions or conversations." Brady was recently elected as a director of the AVC and has become involved with planning Florida Alpha's centennial with Chairman Brett Ogilvie '86. Brady is currently pursuing a Master of Health Administration. After graduating, he will be moving to Fort Lauderdale to work within hospital operations at Broward Health and will eventually transition to corporate strategy. "SigEp has prepared me for these roles by providing me with experiences that have allowed me to think differently and practice leadership on a micro level." These experiences will help shape your college journey but also shape the person you will become over the years."
