Page 2 SigEp Gator Heart A s the grandson of two army veterans, I have always had a strong respect for those who risk their lives so I can live mine. I am proud to have hosted the first-ever SigEp Veterans Fishing Tournament on February 25. This event is something I could only imagine hosting in high school, and watching it come to life was amazing. To host this tournament meant more to me than I could have ever imagined, and I'm proud to give back to our troops. While our tournament was quite small this year, with just six people fishing on boats, it was a great start. I'm excited to watch it grow in the future to be something big and become a staple event for years to come. I can envision this tournament becoming something guys are itching to compete in months prior. I strive to get at least 10 boats on the water next year and give every person that wants to compete a chance to get on a boat and fish. This year, every participant was required to donate at least $25 to a veteran organization of their choice. Brothers who competed, and just general members, were encouraged to donate. I hope to get more SigEp alumni involved for next year. Finding boats was a huge challenge this year, but with the help of Nic Ross '27 and Markus Shunko '27, we were able to have two boats on the water for brothers to fish from. Not only was the event about fishing, but it was also a chance for me to connect with brothers I normally don't talk to and bond with a group of people over a collective cause. Thank you so much to SigEp for such a great opportunity—we're excited to hit the water again next year. More details about the 2025 tournament will be coming this fall. Stay tuned! Fraternally, Gabe Federighi '26 e inaugural tournament was a great start for what we hope to continue growing annually. ank You, Generous Donors O ur devoted Florida Alpha alumni help us maintain a strong brotherhood at the University of Florida.
