A L P H A C H I C H A P T E R 3 O ver the past year, the members of Alpha Chi Chapter have represented our brotherhood well, whether through getting involved or winning awards. B R I N G I N G H O M E T H E H A R D WA R E This year, we had over 85% of our chapter involved in other organizations, including SA Cabinet, Bagley Ambassadors, New Maroon Camp, American Chemical Society, Reflector, and many more. • Colin James '20 swept The Reflector's Sports Section awards, winning four honors in one night, including Sports Writer of the Year and Life Article of the Year. • Will Johnson '23, through connections made in the fraternity, has applied and been accepted into Freshman Reach, AIAA, and Associate IFC. • John Paul Spillers '23 and Charles Holliman '21 have been accepted into the CO-OP Program, where they will take a gap year in their studies and work in their career field to gain experience and skills. G I V I N G B AC K We have also contributed to many philanthropies by donating over $1,100 and having members participate in a Suicide Walk in Madison, Mississippi. We also hosted a Car Smash event in the fall. (Thanks, Thomas Holliman '22, for selling your car to the fraternity for this event!) A week before finals, we brought the vehicle to the middle of campus, where students could donate $5 to grab a bat and smash the car, raising $1,000 for Serious Fun. S T R E N G T H E N I N G B R O T H E R H O O D B O N D S Neal Pirtle '20 has been leading the charge in setting up new brotherhood activities, one of which was an event at Pickwick Lake. We rented several Airbnbs and brought over 70% of our chapter to enjoy taking three rented boats out on the water. We followed it up with a similar event during spring break, renting out a massive Airbnb in Destin, Florida, and having more than 20 brothers spend the week making memories and forming bonds that will last a lifetime.
