T
he women Kelly McIntyre '11 met during
recruitment and the friendships she made
in the house are what made Gamma Phi Beta
feel like home for her.
Kelly has fond memories with her sisters, from
cheering together at football games to sharing
laughs in between their studies at the library.
"It was a great college experience overall, and
my sisters were a big part of that."
As a collegian, Kelly served as financial vice
president and then as chapter president. In
each role, she learned good leadership habits,
including how to help resolve conflict and
how to set an example of the behaviors and
a tudes her peers and colleagues should
demonstrate.
"Having leadership posi ons prepared me
for having leadership posi ons going forward
in my professional career and professional
development."
Kelly is a pediatric cri cal care fellow. Every
day is a li le bit crazy and a li le bit different
as she works to take care of some of the
sickest pa ents in her hospital. Her Gamma
Phi Beta experience has helped her every
step of the way.
"Prac cing communica on skills and
leadership skills at an earlier age has helped
me communicate with my team and with the
family of those very sick children."
While in training to be an ICU physician, Kelly
has moved across the country several mes,
living in Texas, Memphis, and Louisville,
Kentucky. Kelly's parents are the best support
system she could ask for and have helped her
move her belongings each of those mes. They
are always there to pick up the phone when
she calls and help her when things are tough.
Kelly is an "Alabama football crazy person.
Maybe 'fan' doesn't even do it jus ce."
She also enjoys running, hiking, and
reading. You can connect with her at
