x i Chapter truly appreciates your generous donations, which raised more than $2,500 during our fall 2023 appeal. Each gift helps our sisters grow and thrive in their Sigma Kappa home. Thank You, Loyal Sisters! 1 Create a stronger sense of sisterhood. Xi will increase the frequency and variety of events and implement a points-based system to incentivize active participation. 2 Enhance the quality and longevity of our chapter. To improve retention rates, Xi aims to define our values for potential new members and develop specialized training for Continuous Open Bidding efforts. 3 Strengthen bonds within the Panhellenic and larger SFL communities. We plan to collaborate with more Greek organizations on campus, encompassing both social and service-oriented initiatives. Since our last Sigma Star, Xi participated in the fall 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer's and raised $24,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. A recent spring highlight, as always, was Rock Chalk Revue! Sigma Kappa joined the 75th annual production with Sigma Alpha Epsilon, led by directors Brynn Bertie '22, Ashley Plowman '21, and Lilly Reiner '22 (who was awarded Best Comedic Performance). We continue to welcome new members through Continuous Open Bidding. Xi held a denim-themed informal Bid Day in March to celebrate our new members being a "perfect fit" for our chapter! Xi praises its members for their academic accomplishments, which earned our chapter a GPA of 3.46 for the fall 2023 semester. LEADING WITH CLASS In February, Millicent Soderna '22, Lilly Reiner, and Lillian Robinson '22 attended Sigma Kappa's Emerging Leaders Conference in Irvine, California. They discussed with fellow attendees the importance of belonging and showing gratitude, and everyone learned new ways to foster strong bonds within our chapters to ensure that each member feels welcomed, appreciated, and valued. The Xi executive board is excited to use this knowledge to serve our sisters throughout the year. EVEN MORE PHILANTHROPY The chapter house was packed with guests on February 28 for our Xi-Hop philanthropy event, which raised $3,917 for the Sigma Kappa Foundation. Members also participated in Mystic Madness, a March Madness bracket competition benefiting Sigma Kappa Foundation's Fund for Alzheimer's Disease Research. In addition to our own philanthropic events, Xi joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon's Paddy Murphy philanthropy week, hosting a movie night to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. We hope you all have a fantastic summer ahead. Stay tuned for more Xi news!
