A full slate of of- fi cers are needed: president, fi rst vice president, second vice presi- dent, secretary and treasurer. The Nominating Committee of Jackie Dees, Diana Schnuerle, Judie New and Charlotte Donley have been painstakingly interviewing our long list of members seeking candidates for this important positions. Tune in next month to learn the names of those elected. SW DISTRICT CONVENTION Eight members headed out on Sat- urday, March 16th to Quartzsite for the annual GFWC-AZ Southwestern District Spring Convention. Weather was perfect for the event. President Jeni O'Callaghan presided over the small but dedicated group of ladies. One of the topics on the agenda was a proposal for a name change from Southwestern District. Arizona currently has only three districts, Southwestern, Central and South- ern. Those clubs now representing SW District are GFWC-AZ ViSaWen Women's Club in Salome, Monday Club in Prescott, Quartzsite Wom- en's Club and Winslow Women's Club. A suggestion for consideration was call the new district the Greater Arizona District or Western District. A name change is an exciting con- cept, however, it will take several years for state bylaws to be amended to allow the revision. TEA & STYLE SHOW The Quartzsite Women's Club in- vited ViSaWen members to attend their second annual Tea & Style Vi-Sa-Wen Women's Club update Show on February 28th. Pat Pisar- ski, Judie New, Dee Larson, Jeanne Fuller and Nancy Eidsmoe put on their Sunday best and traveled to Quartzsite. The ladies were served the most delicious little sandwiches with lots of sweets and scones. This is a fund raiser for Quartzite and 85 ladies attended. Proceeds were given to the newly formed girl scout troupe in Quartzsite for dresses, badges and sashes for the girls. The style show was again arranged by Elle from Elle's Boutique in Quartz- iste. Elle is famous for designing her products with lots of bling! NEXT MEETING The next regular business meeting will be April 4, 2024, 1:00 pm at the clubhouse located at 66918 Avenue C, Sa- lome, Arizona. Everyone is invit- ed to attend and learn what the women's club does for our com- munity. Judie New, 2022-2024 Secretary
