Charlotte Penningroth Pence '44 lives in a senior community in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. At age 98, she is still independent and belongs to
several organizations, including PEO, Junior League, and Garden Club.
She has one daughter in town, another 1.5 hours away, and two more
children in California. She is the grandmother of four and has five great-

Marjorie Hahn Fletcher '52 was involved in the fundraising campaign
for the current DG home. She won the Cable Award in 1965 and served
as alumnae president. She shared, "I love Delta Gamma even at 89!"

Barbara Appelman Shining '54 celebrated her 90th birthday. She walks
with her husband, Streeter, almost daily. They are enjoying retirement in
Rapid City, S.D.
Judy Hamilton Crockett '57 shared, "My husband passed away two
years ago, so I moved to a senior community in Lake Forest, Calif., for
lifetime care. I have a lovely two-bedroom apartment, and I am involved

Susan Cooper Markovich '60 is living in a rental townhouse in Tucson,
Ariz., for the next two years. She is on two performing arts boards of
directors and attends two or three humanities
courses at the University of Arizona per
semester. She traveled to Egypt in 2023 and
will see Scandinavia in 2024. She visits troops

Bette Smith Doezema '63 completed a 20-
mile swim challenge at her health club in
January 2023 and vacationed in Galveston,
Texas, with her son, Jeremy, and his family in

screen-printing business after 42 years. She has

Mary Kristine Beckwith, M.D. '75 is a practicing OB-GYN in
Indianapolis, Ind. She enjoys ballroom dancing and competitions with her
husband and still does ballet classes. Her son got married in July 2023.

Jennifer Visin Lerum '85 shared, "I retired from teaching early so my
husband and I could move to beautiful SW Michigan. I enjoy hiking,
biking, sailing, and picking fruits in our area all summer and fall. Of
