K appa Alpha is having an amazing spring! Due to many seniors graduating early, our Chapter fell under Panhellenic total. National encouraged us to participate in spring Continuous Open Bidding, and thanks to VP Recruitment and Marketing Gabi Morris '21, we have added 11 perfect new sisters! Bid Day Chairman Jessica Kirkpatrick '22 planned such a fun spring Bid Day, consisting of brunch at the Chapter House and teddy bear making. Since then, Ashley Bacus '21 has led the new members graciously through stage meetings and degree ceremonies. She hosted a movie night and facilitated Big/Little pairings for them as well! The new members are learning what it means to be a Kappa Delta and forming lifelong bonds in the process. In other exciting news, we hosted a brand-new philanthropy event on March 6, "So You Think You Can Lip-Sync." This event featured 16 fraternities lip-syncing choreography, which Kappa Alpha members choreographed and rehearsed with them. We had an absolute blast with this new event while raising $40,000 for Children's Home Society and Prevent Child Abuse America! February 8 was our annual Flock Date function, and Jaclyn Madson '22, Kaley Tran '23, and Avery Turner '23 did an amazing job planning the event. Externally, our members are thriving. Maddie Dunbar '21 was recently elected president of the Seminole Student Boosters; Courtney Harrigan '22 is on the marketing team for Phi Delta Epsilon, a medical fraternity on campus; and Alexis Landsdale '23 is on SGA as Senate Seat #5. We can't wait to share the rest of what will surely be a thrilling 2024!
