Lyre Notes Alpha Nu Chapter of ΑΧΩ at the University of Missouri Spring 2024 M y name is Addison Schulte '22, and I am Alpha Nu's current chapter president. I am honored to lead alongside 14 amazing women on the executive board. I am proud of everything we have accomplished this year and excited to share details about how we've spent time this semester. Academic Achievement We had an outstanding academic semester last fall, achieving a chapter GPA of 3.44. An incredible 161 members were named to the dean's list, and 20 members earned a 4.0! I could not be prouder of our dedication to furthering academic excellence. As we continue pushing members to be the best students possible, I am excited to see the results at the end of the semester. Diversity and Inclusion Efforts Alpha Nu celebrated Black History Month with a movie night in the lower level. We watched the movie Respect, a biopic about Aretha Franklin, while enjoying popcorn from a local Black-owned business. Our marketing team also highlighted a historical Black figure on Instagram each week. We are working to enhance chapter house accessibility and consulted with the House Corporation Board to consider changing doorknobs to door handles. This is a step to fostering a more accessible environment for comfortable house navigation. Philanthropic Events Alpha Nu has promoted domestic violence awareness through services and activities. This past fall, we raised almost $30,000 for our local beneficiary, True North, and completed 1,600 hours of service in our Columbia community. During Healthy Relationships Week, we shared donuts at Mizzou with a "Promoting Alpha Chi Everyday" event called "Donut Let Love Hurt." We also spread the love to other Panhellenic Association (PHA) chapters by sharing flower bouquets and friendly notes. The passion our members have for service and philanthropy inspires us to find ways to further support our community. We are grateful to our alumnae, community and campus for making what we do for True North and Columbia possible. Homecoming, RAMS and Greek Week We participated in Mizzou's 2023 Homecoming with Alpha Epsilon Pi and FarmHouse. We are proud of Paige Weckherlin '20, Lily Terrell '21 and Soumya Bysani '22 for their work on the 2023 Homecoming Steering Committee, furthering a great Mizzou tradition. Alpha Nu placed third in Mizzou's annual Rockin' Against Multiple Sclerosis competition. We participated in a 5K, Rock-It lip-sync challenge and multiple profit shares. We want to congratulate Kaitlyn Davis '21, Morgan Hammer '21 and Zoe Kladis '21 for their effort on the 2024 RAMS Steering Committee. We were able to help Mizzou raise $178,000 to support this cause. We look forward to Greek Week with Delta Chi and Zeta Beta Tau. Our theme is The Voice, fitting the Greek Week theme of popular TV game shows. Sisters continue to represent us well in campus leadership roles, with Sami Magee '21 and Soumya Bysani '22 on the 2024 Greek Week Steering Committee. We are excited to finish our semester strong and cannot wait to share future accomplishments with you. On behalf of Alpha Nu, thank you for your continued love and support.
