APRIL 2024 RETAILOBSERVER.COM 27 7. TUBS AND VANITIES AS FOCAL POINTS "Forever Home" Primary Bath, the design for which Designer Trish Knight and Co-Designer Nicole Varga of Night Varga Interiors were awarded first place in the Primary Bath category, showcases this large freestanding black tub. Tubs and vanities were reported as the top focal points in the bath according to the report, with soaking and freestanding baths followed closely by vanities with marble surfaces and useful integrated solutions such as individual storage units and power outlets. LIGHTING THROUGHOUT THE SPACE With soft lighting that creates a warm, inviting glow, and faceted statement pendant lighting that provides gentle illumination to the face, this design, "Green with Envy," which won Jennifer Hale third place in the Powder Room category, demonstrates the importance of lighting solutions in the bath. According to the report, windows, doors, and skylights will be in demand, allowing more natural light to fill the space. As for light fixtures, the new standard will be 100-percent LED lighting, and popular solutions will include decorative, statement, and task lighting. Photography by Eric Zepeda Studio 9. UNDER-MOUNT AND INTEGRATED SINKS "Pretty Plum-ing," designed by second-place Powder Room category winner Gina D'Amore Bauerle of D'Amore Interiors in Denver, Colorado, balances exuberant color and textures with a touch of smooth, elegant white – including the white concrete vanity top that features an under-mount sink. The installation of this sink is part of a trend from NKBA | KBIS's 2024 Bath Trends report, with many clients wanting under-mount and integrated sinks in their bath spaces, since they are easy to clean and seamless. The majority of sinks will be white in color and made from porcelain/cast iron, vitreous china, or a solid or composite surface. Photography by Eric Lucero Photography RO 9 8
