2024
is off to a great start, and Epsilon men are doing amazing
things! Members are fundraising for philanthropy, serving
on the Interfraternity Council, and creating a new Epsilon to continue to
strive for greatness.
As always, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is top of everyone's
minds as we continue to support the end of childhood cancer. This fall,
we held our annual Screams for St. Jude haunted house at 224 Ash Ave.
This event was another great success as we raised thousands of dollars
for St. Jude. We also sold out our parking lot each football weekend and
donated all proceeds. Later this semester, we will hold our annual food
event, Mac Attack, with Delta Delta Delta! As neighbors and supporters
of St. Jude, this is a great opportunity to raise awareness and fundraise for
this great cause.
Frater Ethan Newell '20 E-2400 currently serves on the Interfraternity
Council Judicial Board. He began his service in fall 2023. As a former
Prytanis and member of Greek Week Central, Frater Newell continues to
showcase Tau Kappa Epsilon on Iowa State's campus.
Epsilon achieved a 3.06 GPA this fall. While this is a drop from the
previous semester, this still places TKE among the best at Iowa State!
To further our academic greatness, we have implemented a great team
system where leaders assist men in their academics and offer them
support and ways they can continue to improve.
Coming soon is Greek Week 2024, and we are paired with the wonderful
women of Alpha Delta Pi. Two years ago, we placed second overall with
ADPi, and this year we are shooting for first. Greek Week consists of
community service, fundraising for the Special Olympics of Iowa, Olympic
events, tournaments, and a lip-syncing competition. Utilizing the skills of our
men, we anticipate no issues with achieving first place.
At Epsilon, we look to exceed expectations and strive for greatness. While
continuing our support for St. Jude, remaining active in the Iowa State
community, and continuing to find great men, we are looking to be awarded
our 13th-consecutive and 28th-overall Top TKE Chapter Award! This
semester is off to a great start and looks to be one of our greatest yet.
