4 Alpha Eta Chapter A er welcoming 107 new members, Alpha Eta embarked on a busy and fun-filled fall semester. e new member class quickly bonded through Phi Welcome Week and Phi Retreat followed by Phi Hop Brunch the next morning. To kick off the semester's social events, our Chapter hosted the third annual Pink Dress Run event! Our girls had so much fun showing up with their dates in pink dresses and celebrating being back together. Following this event, we hosted an alumnae brunch, Big/Little Reveal, Parent's Weekend, a Panhellenic game day tailgate, and many sisterhood events at the Alpha Eta House. We focused on soaking up every moment at 4090 before renovations began in January. Our Chapter ended the fall semester by installing our new executive board and celebrating with our annual Christmas party. We could not be prouder of two of our current members being selected to serve on LSU's 2024 Panhellenic Executive Council! Gabbie Mikhail '21 will be serving as vice president of recruitment, and Taylor Davlin '22 as director of philanthropy. We cannot wait to see all they will accomplish while also representing Phi Mu. We are also looking forward to spring events like Formal and Formal Presentation, Mother/Daughter Brunch, Founders' Day Celebration, Red, White and Mu, and the second annual BonnaMu. is year may look a little different while we are residing at our temporary home at 3970 W. Lakeshore Drive, but we are eager to see the results of the new Chapter room and dining room expansion at 4090. Having this will allow Alpha Eta to comfortably and effectively come together for many generations to come. We are beyond grateful to all alumnae who have donated to the campaign and who have paved the path for our success! Yours in Our Bond, Megan Murphey '21, Chapter President T his year has been a monumental one for our partnership with Children's Miracle Network Hospital! Last fall, our relationship with the children at the local Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital grew exponentially due to our members' biweekly visits. Phi Mus participated in a closed-circuit program that was broadcast directly into the patients' rooms, where they played games, did trivia, and demonstrated fitness dance moves. ese events ended with door-to- door visits to hand prizes to the children. While we focused on the face-to-face impact made by spending time with patients, our fundraising accomplishments were notable as well. I am proud to say that both the spring and fall fundraising events (BonnaMu and Man of the Year pageant) raised over $100,000 each, making our $203,000 total the highest of any Phi Mu chapter in the nation! Along with big fundraising events, we did several givebacks and pop-up shops. While we are so proud of the work we've put in this year, we know it's only the beginning of growth in this fundamental pillar of our sisterhood. It has been the greatest honor to serve in this role, and I am very excited to see what 2024 has in store!
